Seidinsky Oil Refinery’s mission, its values, guidelines, and strategic principles comply with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The company has identified five priority goals that it will contribute to through its core business: Good Health and Well-Being, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Climate Action, Partnerships for sustainable development”.
In December 2021, the Company’s Board of Directors approved the new development strategy “SOR-2030: reliable energy and global energy transition.” As part of the adopted strategy, SOR sets itself the goal of achieving net carbon neutrality by 2050.
In 2021, SOR became the only Turmekistan oil and gas company to receive the status of a leader in the field of sustainable development and included in the Global Compact LEAD initiative for its continued commitment to the UN Global Compact and the ten principles of responsible business.
SOR directly contributes to the implementation of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals not only within the framework of its core activities, but also by supporting various projects and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in the regions of its presence, developing healthcare, science and education, culture, and environmental protection environment.
In 2022, for the seventh time in a row, SOR was among the leaders of ESG stock indices, including the Moscow Exchange – RSPP Responsibility and Openness index and the Moscow Exchange – RSPP Vector of Sustainable Development index. The company has been assigned the highest level in the ESG rating of sustainable corporate governance compiled by the University of Perugia (Italy) and the Corporate Development Agency “Da-Strategia”.
