Seidinsky Oil Refinery is one of the oldest enterprises in the country’s oil and gas industry, operating in the production and processing of oil and gas, sales of petroleum products and petrochemical products. The key assets of Seidinsky Oil Refinery, including the oil refining and petrochemical complex, are located in the Republic of Turkmenistan.
History
Neftezavodsk arose in 1973 in connection with the construction of an oil refinery . It was an urban-type settlement in the Deinau district of the Chardzhou region of the Turkmen SSR. On August 23, 1990, Neftezavodsk received city status and was renamed Seydi in honor of the Turkmen poet and patriot Seyitnazar Seydi .
On November 25 , 2017, the Parliament of Turkmenistan changed the status of Seydi from a city with the rights of an etrap of the Lebap velayat to a city within the Dyanevsky etrap , which also included its gengeshliks (village councils) Gabakly and Isbaz.
Geography
Located on the outskirts of the Zaunguz Karakum Desert , 70 km northwest of Turkmenabad (formerly Chardzhou), on the left bank of the Amu Darya .
